Ephesus, once the second biggest city of all the eastern world and home of St. Paul St. John and, has a long history reaching back to the 2 nd, millenium BC.
The house of Virgin Mary where services still are being held, the remains of the Temple of Artemis the grand theatre of Ephesus seating 25.000 spectators are only some of the high-lights that have been brought to daylight during the excavations which started in 1895 and are being carried out by Austrians ever since.
